Bachelor in Homoeopathy Medicine & Surgery (B.H.M.S.) Degree


Four year Six Month & One year Compulsory internship


(I) No candidate shall be admitted to B.H.M.S. Degree Course Unless he has passed-

(a) The higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of twelve years’ study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology with Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a level not less than core course of English after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education

(b) The intermediate examination in science of any Indian University or Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry & Biology which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject

(c) The pre-professional or pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry & Biology , after passing either the higher secondary school examination, or the pre-university or an equivalent Examination, which shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry & Biology and also English as a compulsory subject

(d) The first year of the three years’ degree course of a recognized University. With Physics, Chemistry & Biology including a practical test in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and candidate has passes 10+2 with English at a level not less than a core course Or

e) Any other examination which, in scope and standard is found to be equivalent to the intermediate science examination of an Indian University or Board, taking Physics, Chemistry & Biology including practical test in each of these subjects and English as compulsory subject

(ii) No candidate shall be admitted to B.H.M.S. Degree Course unless he has attained the age of 17 years’ on or before 31st December of the year of his admission to the first year of the course.

(iii) No candidate shall be admitted to B.H.M.S. Degree Course if he is blind (including color blindness), deaf, dumb, deaf and dumb.

A candidate shall be eligible for admission in B.H.M.S. Degree Course who has passed National Eligibility Entrance Test {NEET} Examination conducting by the Central Board of Secondary Education {CBSE}, New Delhi. Or

If any amendment of the Department of AYUSH, Government of India, New Delhi will be made in this regard which is applicable for all.

Medium of Instruction & Examination:-

Medium of Instruction in B.H.M.S (Degree) Course will both English & Hindi. Students would be at liberty to optany one language of the two.

Intake Capacity

50 Seat


Central Council of Homoeopathy has Permitted Fifty (50) Seats intake capacity to Dr. Y.S.H.M.C. and Hospital, Laheriasarai, Darbhanga each academic year.


The tuition fee and other charges will have to be paid as prescribed by the college. The fee structure for the current Session is given on separate seats which is tentative subject to the final decision.

Admission Procedure :-

1. Only those students who have passed 10+2 or Intermediate Science (Bio) or its equivalents with Physics, Chemistry & Biology are eligible for admission.

2. Applicants seeking admission for the 1st BHMS courses must submit an application to the principal in the prescribed form which can be obtained from the college office on any working day on cash payment of Rs. 350/- or by M.O./D.D. Rs. 350/- by post in the name of the Dr. Yadubir Sinha Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital. Laheriasarai, Darbhanga 846002.

3. Selection of students for admission is made by an expert committee on the basis of an entrance Test and Interview. The decision of Expert committee in all matters concerning admission is final.

4. Students of higher qualification will be required to submit a true copy of marks sheet and certificate of the last examination Passed.

5. The medium for instruction in the Entrance Test shall be in English.
